What is IPMAT Indore?
IPMAT (Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test) is a computer-based national entrance test conducted by IIM Indore for its prestigious 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). This unique dual-degree program awards students a BA in Foundations of Management and an MBA upon completion.
With only 150 seats available for domestic applicants, tens of thousands of aspirants compete for a spot in this elite program. The exam is conducted across approximately 39 cities nationwide, including Lucknow, making it one of the most competitive undergraduate entrance exams in India.

What most aspirants miss
In the official shortlisting formula, Verbal Ability carries 50 out of 100 points — as much as both Quant sections combined. Sectional cut-offs apply, so you cannot ignore any section.

Eligibility

- Born on or after August 1, 2006 (August 1, 2001 for SC/ST/PwD).
- Passed Class 12 in the last two years or appearing this year.
- Passed Class 10.
- No minimum percentage requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Maths in Class 12 compulsory?
No. There is no subject requirement — students from any stream can appear. The Quant sections test maths up to roughly Class 10–12 level, so comfort with maths helps, but it is not an eligibility condition.
Is there negative marking?
Yes, −1 for every wrong MCQ answer in the QA (MCQ) and Verbal Ability sections. The QA Short Answer section has no negative marking.
Is there a minimum percentage requirement?
No. Per the official 2026 notification, there is no minimum percentage in Class 10 or 12 — only the age and passing-year conditions apply.
Which other institutes accept the score?

When should I start preparing?
Ideally 12–18 months before the exam. That leaves time to build concepts, take enough mocks, and prepare properly for the interview that decides 35% of your selection.
