IPMAT Rohtak: The IIM route where your board marks count
Everything about IIM Rohtak's 5-year Integrated Programme in Management — pattern, eligibility, selection weights, timeline.
What is IPMAT Rohtak?
IIM Rohtak conducts its own IPM Aptitude Test (separate from IIM Indore's) for its 5-year IPM — a BBA + MBA dual-degree path straight after Class 12.
It offers 198 seats through a computer-based test. The same test also has an optional Legal Reasoning section for IIM Rohtak's Integrated Programme in Law.
Exam Pattern
| Section | No. of Questions |
|---|---|
| Quantitative Ability | 40 questions |
| Logical Reasoning | 40 questions |
| Verbal Ability | 40 questions |
120 MCQs in 120 minutes total — no sectional time limits, so you decide how to split your time. Every question carries +4 for correct, −1 for wrong. Unlike IPMAT Indore, there is no section without negative marking here.
The part most students discover too late
Your Class 10 and 12 board marks carry 30% weight in the final merit list. The exam is only 55%. If you're in Class 11 or 12 now, your board preparation IS part of your IIM preparation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is IPMAT Rohtak different from IPMAT Indore?
A: Different exams by different IIMs. Rohtak has a Logical Reasoning section, all-MCQ format with no sectional time limits, and gives 30% weight to board marks. Indore has no LR section, strict sectional timing, and no board-marks weightage. Many students prepare for both.
Q: Do my board marks really matter?
A: Yes — 30% of your final merit score comes from Class 10 (10%) and Class 12 (20%) marks, calculated on your best five subjects.
Q: Is there negative marking?
A: Yes, −1 for every wrong answer in all three sections.
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: Yes — maximum 20 years as of June 30 of the admission year (25 for SC/ST).
Q: When should I start preparing?
A: Ideally 12–18 months out — and keep your board preparation serious in parallel, since it carries real weight here.
